Optimization of sorbitol, glycerol, and propyleneglycol mixture in sunscreen gel of ethanolic extract of Curcuma mangga

The research about optimization of sorbytol, glycerol, and propyleneglycol mixture  in  sunscreen  gel  of  ethanolic  extract  of  Curcuma  mangga has  been done.  The  aims  of  this  research  was  to  discover  the optimum  mixture  of sorbytol,  glycerol  and  propyleneglycol  that  gave  good  physycal  characteristic  of the  gel.  First, made the ethanolic extract of Curcuma mangga as active ingredient.  The SPF value of the ethanolic extract of Curcuma mangga was measured.  Simplex  lattice  design  was  employed  to  create  the  optimum composition  of  sorbitol,  glycerol  and  propyleneglycol  in  the  sunscreen  gel. Physical characteristic of the gel including spreadability, viscosity and the alteration of the gel viscosity was measured. The result showed that there were optimum composition between sorbytol, glycerol and propyleneglycol which gave good  physical  characteristics  based  on  the  shading  area  at  the  counterplot superimposed.Keywords: sorbitol, glycerol, propyleneglycol, Curcuma mangga, sunscreen ge

BEBERAPA KARAKTERISTIK PENGGUNA PELAYANAN RAWAT NGINAP RUMAH SAKIT ST-ELISABET SEMARANG TAHUN 1984-1989

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh gambaran tentang karakteristik masyarakat yang memanfaatkan pelayanan rawat nginap RS St-Elizabeth Semarang tahun 1984-1989. Penelitian ini adalah memperoleh gambaran tentang sifat diskriptif dengan metode pendekatan retrospektif. Data yang diperoleh didiskripsikan dengan analisa tabel distribusi frekuensi dalam persen dan disajikan dalam tabel, grafik dan tekstular. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pasien wanita selalu lebih banyak dari pada pasien pria dari th 1984-1989. Golongan umur terbanyak adalah umur 19-61 th. Sebagian besar pasien yang dirawat di RS ini beragama islam kemudian beragama katholik, kristen, Budha dan sebagian kecil beragama Hindu, dan sebagian kecil lainnya beragama lain/aliran kepercayaan lain. Ditinjau dari tingkat sosial ekonomi, golongan terbesar adalah dari tingkat sosial ekonomi bawah, namun dari golongan menengah persentasenya meningkat dari tahun ketahun. Pasien berasal dari karisidenan Semarang. Penyakit yang selalu menempati urutan atas adalah Gastroenteritis, Demam berdarah, Commotio Cerebri dan Thypoid Fever. Untuk meningkatkan pelayanan rawat nginap RS St-Elizabeth perlu meningkatkan sistem informasi, khususnya pemanfaatan informasi tentang karakteristik masyarakat pengguna pelayanan dalam pengambilan keputusan untuk perencanaan pengembangan RS. THE INFLUENCE OF AUDIO LINGUAL METHOD ON THE STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT AT THE FIRST YEAR STUDENTS OF MTsN LEUWIMUNDING

Sri Hartati: The Influence of Audio Lingual Method on the Students’ Vocabulary Achievement at the First Year Students of MTsN Leuwimunding Language as means for communication takes an important role in our daily activities. In this modern era, people are demanded to acquire more than one language. One of the important languages that should be mastered is English. But, students usually difficult to express their ideas in English. There are because of the students are less in mastering vocabulary. So, the teachers have to find out the appropriate method for teaching English vocabulary. That is why the writer takes a research about the influence of audio lingual method to the students’ achievement in English vocabulary. One of the important things in the process of teaching and learning English is vocabulary. Vocabulary is a basic need in communication. It plays an important role in the four language skills. By mastering vocabulary, students will be able to produce many sentences either in spoken or written texts. Knowing a language may mean knowing its vocabulary. The Audio Lingual method is the method which focuses in repetition some words to memorize. In the execution of learning process, Audio Lingual method give more practice, drill, memorize vocabularies, and the students memorize and practice some vocabulary unconsciously. The objective of the research is to find out the influence of audio lingual method on the students’ vocabulary achievement at the first year students of MTsN Leuwimunding. The method of the research is quantitative research. The researcher does the research by using the formula of statistic, especially by using the formula of product moment correlation by Pearson. Then to collect the data the researcher use the techniques of observation, interview, test, and questionnaire. MTsN Leuwimunding is the Islamic junior high school which has been giving general and religious instruction and education well-balanced. It has complete enough facilities. The instructional processes were done in the classroom. In this research the writer knew that the students give a good response to the application of audio lingual method, it can be considered as ‘positive response’. The average of students’ vocabulary achievement after taught by using audio lingual method is ‘good’, they get a ‘high score’. It shows that there is ‘significant influence’ between the students’ response to the application of audio lingual method and the students’ vocabulary achievement. The result of product moment correlation between the application of audio lingual method on the students’ vocabulary achievement is 0.67. It means that the null hypothesis is rejected and the research hypothesis received. It is prove by mark of testing hypothesis that the result of rxy is higher than rtable-product-moment where rxy is 0.67 and rtable with 5% significant is 0.361 or robserved > rtable (0.67>0.361)

Upaya meningkatkan keberanian bertanya siswa dalam pengajaran biologi di Madrasah Tsanawiyah negeri Gondangrejo tahun pelajaran 2002/2003

Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk menemukan pola tindakan guru dalam meningkatkan keberanian siswa bertanya saat belajar mengajar khususnya pada pelajaran biologi. Adapun yang menjadi subyek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas II D di Madarasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Gondangrejo, sedang guru mitra action research yaitu guru biologi di kelas II D. Prosedur penelitian yang digunakan yaitu mengacu pada metodologi action research, maka pada penelitian tindakan kali ini menggunakan prosedur : (a) penetapan fokus masalah penelitian yang melalui tes diagnosis yang berupa angket, (b) menyusun perencanaan tindakan, (c) impelementasi tindakan, (d) refleksi dan analisis data. Untuk mengkaji hasil implementasi perencanaan program monitoring penelitian dan refleksi penelitian pada setiap pelaksanaan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Dengan beberapa fokus penelitian yaitu (a) upaya menghilangkan rasa minder, malu, atau takut yang dapat menghambat pada keberanian bertanya siswa (b) perlu adanya motivasi bertanya siswa melalui dorongan motivasi belajar pada siswa, (c) penggunaan metode mengajar yang dapat mengembangkan ketrampilan siswa untuk bertanya. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan: 1). Upaya menghilangkan rasa minder yang dapat menghambat pada keberanian bertanya siswa yang dapat diantisipasi melalui a. menumbuhkan motivasi berprestasi dengan melalui (1) memupuk sikap percaya diri, (2) membudayakan kompetisi sebagai motivasi berprestasi, b. mempelajari dan menggunakan macam-macam pertanyaan, c. menumbuhkan kreatifitas pada siswa. 2). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan dan motivasi, terhadap prestasi kerja dan dampaknya pada kinerja Sekretariat Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Kabupaten Aceh Barat. Alam penelitian ini tidak digunakan teknik sampling karena sampel yang di teliti adalah keseluruhan dari populasi yang ada atau disebut dengan sensus. Mengingat jumlah populasi hanya sebesar 73 pegawai, maka layak untuk di ambil keseluruhan untuk dijadikan sampel tanpa harus mengambil sampel dalam jumlah tertentu. Sehingga sampel dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh pegawai Kantor DPRK Aceh Barat. An Analysis Of The English Textbooks For Elementary School In Kabupaten Sukoharjo Based On The 2003 Local English Curriculum

The purpose of this research is to know parts of the English textbooks which follow and do not follow the guideline of the 2003 local English curriculum. The writer uses a descriptive qualitative research as the type of research. The data used in this research are taken from document. The data are taken from the English textbooks entitled Enjoy Your English (An English Book for Elementary Students Part one, two, and three) published by Education Department Kabupaten Sukoharjo, Grow with English (An English Course for Elementary School Students Book fourth, fifth and sixth) by Penerbit Erlangga and Go with English (Book fourth, fifth, and sixth) published by Penerbit Yudhistira. The results of the research show that from the data of the 2003 English local curriculum, there are 6 themes with 100 language focuses which should be learnt by the students in the forth class, 7 themes with 32 language focuses for the fifth class and 7 themes with 52 language focuses. Not all of the curriculum suggestions done or written in those 3 textbooks. In “Enjoy Your English” all of the themes and language focuses of the forth, fifth and sixth class are matching with the syllabus suggested and the degree of compatible of it is 100%; in “Grow with English” the appropriate of the themes are 75% for the forth, 33,33% for the fifth years, and 91,67% for the sixth years, and related to the language focuses of it, there is 58% for the forth years, 71,88% for the fifth years, and 65,38% for the sixth years. In the “Go with English”, related to the appropriate of the themes, there is 75% for the forth years, 33,33% for the fifth years, and 85,71% for the sixth years; and related to the language focuses, there is 55% for the forth years, 53,13% for the fifth years and for the sixth years 84,62%. Related to the not appropriate parts of the English textbook, in “Enjoy Your English”, there is no part of it which is not appropriate with the curriculum. in “Grow with English”, the themes which are not appropriate are 25% for the forth, 66,67% for the fifth years, and 8,33% for the sixth years; related to the language focuses, there are 42% for the forth years which are not appropriate, 28% for the fifth years, and 34,62% for the sixth years. In “Go with English”, related to the themes which are not appropriate, for the forth years, there is 25%, 66,67% for the fifth years, and 14,29% for the sixth years. Related to the language focuses which are not appropriate, there are 45% for the forth years, 46,88% for the fifth years, and 15,38% for the sixth years

Peningkatan Hasil Belajar Ipa Melalui Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Student Teams Achievment Divisions (Stad) Bagi Siswa Kelas Iv Sd Puri 01 Kecamatan Pati Kabupaten Pati Tahun Pelajaran 2012 / 2013

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas IV dengan penerapan model pembelajaran (STAD). Subyek penelitian adalah guru dan siswa kelas IV SDN Puri 01 yang berjumlah 26 siswa. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan melalui wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, tes dan catatan lapangan.. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis diskriptif komparatif dan interaktif yang terdiri dari 3 komponen yaitu: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Proses penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing–masing siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu: perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan dalam hasil belajar IPA siswa. Adapun peningkatan hasil pembelajaran dapat dilihat dari perolehan nilai siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA yang meningkat dari siklus I dan siklus II. Pada keadaan awal ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA sebesar 27% atau hanya 7 siswa yang tuntas, dan pada siklus I naik menjadi sebesar 50% atau 13 siswa serta pada siklus II pembelajaran dapat meningkat menjadi 88% atau 23 siswa yang tuntas. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa dengan penerapan metode permbelajaran (STAD) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas IV
